- Title: Mount Athabasca and Hilda Peak
- Description: North of the "Big Bend" on the Icefields Parkway Mount Athabasca and Hilda Peak dominate the skyline above the Parker Ridge trailhead. To the right is Sunwapta Pass, the low point of the saddle created between these mountains and Nigel Peak. The 6677-foot elevation pass marks the boundary between Banff and Jasper National Parks. Mount Athabasca at 11,453 feet is unusual, in that water flows to the Pacific down the Columbia River on the west slope, while the northeastern slope drains to the Arctic Ocean and the southwestern slope drains to Hudson Bay. Kind of a triple-divide kind of thing!
