- Title: North Vancouver from Lion's Gate Bridge
- Description: For thousands of years, the Indigenous Squamish and their kin the Coast Salish, resided in the land known as North Vancouver. In 1792, Captain George Vancouver explored the local shores, but it was not until 1862 that the first attempt was made to cut the North Shore's timber, leading to the settlement of the area that would later become North Vancouver. Most of the residents of the district live in single-family dwellings, with much of the development being done since 1950. In the left foreground is the Vancouver Shipyards, which have huge cranes mounted dockside for lifting cargo from vessels from around the globe.
