- Title: Maligne Lake Landscape
- Description: In the 1940s, the Kodak camera company sent photographer Peter Gales on excursions to get images to promote their film. On one of his forays, he ventured to Mary Schaffer's mysterious Maligne Lake and took a photograph of a tiny peninsula that was sacred to the Native Peoples. The photo was enlarged to mural size and displayed in New York City’s Grand Central Station. Millions of people were exposed to this little-known location in the Canadian Rockies, and the island’s fame quickly spread. Over the years, this setting has found its way into countless brochures, postcards, and tourism ads. It’s now considered one of the most photographed spots in the Rockies. If any place deserves to be called iconic, this would certainly be it. We are definitely happy with our version of this bucket list scene!
