- Title: Lake Tahoe Queen off Fannette Island
- Description: Fannette Island is the only island of any consequence in Lake Tahoe. While Emerald Bay was carved by glaciers, something about the granite of the island resisted those tremendous forces at 150 feet in height. Lora Knight, a major philanthropist who gave extensively to youth groups in California and to various charities in the Tahoe Basin, was responsible for both Vikingsholm and the teahouse on Fannette Island. The Tahoe Queen veers off shore of the island in an effort to give tourists a close-up view of the Tea House. Shot with a telephoto lens and tripod, the occasion offered Artwestimage photographers an exciting opportunity to document the event as well.
