- Title: Virgin River Valley Floor at Zion
- Description: Over 200-million years ago, the area where Zion is today was a great desert basin. Over vast spans of time, mountains eroded and material was transported by slow-moving streams and rivers depositing sand in a vast basin. Gradually the earths crust lifted, folded and eroded to created the ridges that line both sides of the canyon. Continuing erosion of the Virgin River and it's side canyon's deepens the canyon over time. It's unique climate and locale ecosystem provides the conditions ripe for lush vegetation that exists today.
