Two of California's largest national parks in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range were the highlight of our summer expedition of 2024. The majestic sequoia groves of the southwestern slopes of the Sierra's feature the largest trees in the world, towering nearly 300 feet in height. Yosemite, to the north of Sequoia NP, thanks to artist and conservationist John Muir, is the most famous and most visited of all of California's parks. It features five major waterfalls and towering Half Dome and El Capitan, which rise 4000 feet above the Merced River valley in Yosemite Canyon.
